Heat-expanded lightweight clay pebbles (20-40 mm)

  • Heat-expanded lightweight clay pebbles are used to backfill the space between exterior and interior walls
  • Insulate flat roofs or pitched roofs with slight slopes
  • Manufacture ultra-lightweight concrete and lightweight expanded clay concrete blocks
  • Make heat insulation and sound insulation of floors and ceilings

keramzit_new_5-10_750x750

Heat-expanded lightweight clay pebbles (5-10 mm)

  • Heat-expanded lightweight clay pebbles are used to manufacture expanded clay concrete blocks with low thermal conductivity
  • Floor levelling (dry floor screed systems). Dry screed systems provide insulation and perfectly align the surface for the subsequent installation of gypsum fiber sheets.
  • Thermal insulation of facades. LECA fraction 5-10 mm is used to create heat insulation inside walls during construction.
  • Landscape design

Expanded clay sand (0-5 mm)

  • Expanded clay sand is used for dry backfilling under floors made of clay fiberboards to enhance the heat and sound insulation
  • Fabrication of heated mortar
  • Production of façade tiles and paving slabs
  • Floor screed systems

THE PROCESS OF EXPANDED CLAY AGGREGATE GRAVEL PRODUCTION

EXTRACTION OF RAW MATERIALS

The first stage is the extraction of raw materials — clay rocks are mined by the open method and are transported to the plant by dump trucks. After that stage, a semi-finished product is made (by plastic method).

PROCESSING OF RAW MATERIALS

Clay is beforehand pre-processed to a plastic state, then goes the preparation of a homogeneous clay dough and molding of it into raw granules with a size of 5 (7) — 20 mm, round and with a flat surface. In order to improve swelling, organically burnable additives (sawdust) are introduced. The moisture content of the granules is approximately 20%.

DRYING AND BURNING

The next steps are drying and burning of the semi-finished product. In the process of heat treatment, the semi-finished product goes through the following stages: drying in a drying drum; burning in rotary kilns at T=1100 – 1200°C. Furnace performance from 9-10 m³/hour to 12 m³/hour.

COOLING AND SORTING

The next stage after burning is the stage of expanded clay aggregate
cooling. When being taken out of a furnace, expanded clay aggregate has t=950 – 1050°С and is sent in refrigerators for cooling. Drum grate
coolers are used to cool expanded clay aggregate. In order to produce fractionated gravel, expanded clay aggregate is sorted on vibrating screens after firing and cooling. Usualle, 3 fractions of expanded clay aggregate gravel are isolated – 10-20, 5-10 and 0-5 mm of expanded clay aggregate sand, and then the finished product goes to the warehous.
